What do I use?

Traveling is great and it feels even better to share those experiences with others. When sharing those experiences you want to capture that moment with the best quality that you can. Here are some tools that I utilize during my travels.

iPhone 12 Pro Max

To me, having a smart phone is the greatest tool to have. You can share your moments instantly with a post to social media or just go live on the spot. The form factor is perfect as you can carry it in your pocket. As an essential to most people, that makes it always readily available at all times.

The Iphone along with the apps Lightroom and Snapseed makes editing on the spot a breeze for me. When on a train or bus ride it is easy to get those pictures edited how you like and send them out right away

I chose iPhone because I am an Apple eco system person. I have an iPhone, iPad pro, iPad mini and a MacBook Air. The ability to share files so seamless between devices is amazing and it is what  influences my decision on what phone I use.

GoPro Hero 9

Two words for you, image stabilization. I am a big fan of hyper lapses and the image stabilization that the GoPro has helps me achieve some amazing videos. Even with no gimbal, it provides amazingly smooth and stable videos. The really small form factor of a GoPro allows you to be able to put this small camera in your everyday bag.  As a scuba diver  this camera is my go to for underwater videos and pictures. I also like to shoot time lapses and it is really easy to set the GoPro on something and not need any additional equipment to get the shot.

Canon 90D

Given as a gift to my from my good friend Jerry, the Canon 90D is a beast of a camera. I love the patience of adjusting the settings correctly to get that perfect shot. I love the thought process that goes into deciding what mode do I need to be in? What ISO do I need? What F stop would be better? When all of these questions are answered correctly, you will end up with some wonderful shots. When I do not get the right shot, I enjoy putting those photos in Lightroom and exploring different ways that I like to interpret my mood and style in the photos that I have taken.

I am anticipating for travel to open up again so I can get out there and take more pictures and video with these devices. I am sure that we all hope that time will be soon.
